The PKP Compact Substation is a space-saving, highly versatile local grid and customer substation with a wide range of configuration options. It is designed for use in the power range up to 630 kVA (optionally 1000 kVA).
The substation consists of two monolithic prefabricated concrete sections (body and roof).
The MV cables are fed in using watertight entry systems (e.g. Hauff). The LV cable can be
brought in through a cable entry duct open at the bottom. An LV cable entry with a watertight entry system
is available as an option.
All substation doors and ventilation components made by us can be manufactured from either galvanised steel or aluminium, depending on the customer’s choice. The doors are equipped with door stops, copper earthing straps and swivel lever locks for either one or two profile cylinders. Two-point locking systems for each door leaf eliminate arcing risk with the doors closed.

1. SUBSTATION DESCRIPTION
The PKP Compact Substation is a space-saving, highly versatile local grid and customer substation with a wide range of configuration options. It is designed for use in the power range up to 630 kVA (optionally 1000 kVA). The substation is manufactured in compliance with the relevant regulations such as IEC , DIN, VDE and UVV, as well as the following standards in particular:
- IEC 62271-202 (VDE 0671-202)
- DIN 1045: 2008-08
- 26th BimSchV (26th German Federal Immission Control Ordinance)
- WHG (German Water Resources Act)
2. CONSTRUCTION
The substation consists of two monolithic prefabricated concrete sections (body and roof). The MV cables are fed in using watertight entry systems (e.g. Hauff). The LV cable can be brought in through a cable entry duct open at the bottom. An LV cable entry with a watertight entry system is available as an option.
The surface finish of the substation can be individually customised to suit customer wishes. The options include exposed aggregate concrete, fair-faced concrete, float-finish and roll-on stucco in a choice of colours from the RAL colour card, brick tile facing and other special finishes.
3. DOORS AND VENTILATION
The ventilation grilles are pick-proof and can optionally be fitted with insect screens.
4. ELECTRICAL CONFIGURATION
The electrical configuration of the substation with the medium voltage switchgear, transformer, low voltage distribution,
secondary equipment, MV and LV cables, earthing, etc. is carried out at the factory according to customer specifications in compliance with IEC 62271-202.
5. TRANSPORT & INSTALLATION
The substation is delivered by truck to the job site as a complete unit ready for connection and is set down in the foundation pit prepared for it with the aid of a truck-mounted or mobile crane. Four lifting points in the base are provided for lifting the substation.
