Immissions occur when electrical devices are in use, and are caused by the magnetic and electric fields.In a transformer substation, the main factor of importance is the immission of the electromagnetic field, which is influenced by the level of the operating current. In such transformer substations, the key components are, therefore, the low voltage switchgear system, the low voltage connections from the transformer, and the outgoing low voltage cable from the transformer substation.
The magnetic field limits are specified in the 26th German Federal Immission Protection Ordinance (26th BImSchV). After the 26th BImSchV was published in 1996, GRÄPER responded immediately to the new requirements and began systematically measuring the immission behaviour of transformer substations.
Transportable Testing Bay
Attention is paid to the proper arrangement of the corresponding cable connections in project planning and in electrical assembly of the transformer substations, so that the permissible limit of magnetic immisions is not exceeded.Practical measurements of immission performance are taken with the in-house, calibrated Electromagnetic Compatibility Device (EMV). The transportable testing bay unit can provide a continuous low voltage feed to transformers of up to approx. 2000 kVA, and is available to customers for mobile use.
Gräper transformer substations will continue to be optimised through the in-house measuring technology for electromagnetic immissions; they will be delivered to the customer in the knowledge that they are compatible with the environment.
